Day Support Programs

Day Support Services promotes the individual service needs and offer a variety of services to address each person’s individual needs and behavioral wellness.

The Day Support Consulting Package includes:

​

  • Introduction to the DBHDS Licensing Process Overview 

  • Initial Provider Application to include:

    • All policies and procedures including (with needed revisions)

    • Home and Community Based Services implementation 

    • Working Budget

    • Development of Organization Structure

    • Job Descriptions

    • Criminal History and Central Registry Account Set up

    • Development of sample client file (for inspection)

  • Organization setup to include:

    • Business License

    • State Corporation

    • EIN

  • Tour of a fully licensed program and the opportunity to ask the owner questions

  • Preparation for On-Site Review

  • Enrolling with DMAS (Department of Medical Assistance Services)

  • Enrollment in CHRIS (Computerized Human Rights Information System)

  • Enrollment in WAMS (Waiver Management System)

  • Overview of billing for services

Day Support Programs

CENTER BASED
DAY SUPPORT

Includes skill building and support for the acquisition or retention of:

  • Adaptive skills

  • Community integration

  • Employability

  • Self-help

  • Socialization

Services may include skill development and positive behavioral support for persons to be successful in their:

  • Career planning  

  • Community Involvement

  • Connection to community resources

  • Home environments

The ratio of service is one staff person to seven service participants.

COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT

Takes place in a community setting only and provides opportunities to:

  • Facilitate and build relationships and natural supports in the community

  • Utilize the community as a learning environment

Activities are conducted at naturally occurring times and settings in which the individual actively interacts with persons without disabilities (other than those paid to support the individual), such as:

  • Cultural and educational activities

  • Other community based exposure

  • Unpaid work experiences

The ratio of service is one staff person to three service participants.

COMMUNITY COACHING
SERVICES

Takes place in a community setting only and is designed for people who need individual support to:

  • Address a barrier to participating in Community Engagement

  • Build a skill or set of skills

Activities include:

  • Building positive relationships and natural supports in the community

  • Community activities and events

  • Educational and cultural activities

  • Skill building tasks

The ratio of service is one staff person to one service participant.
